The Alabama Water Ski Federation (AWSF) exists to organize and oversee water ski tournaments and clinics in the state, as well as to promote water skiing broadly.

AWSF members, and the water ski community at large, exhibit and personify the three core values of our organization: Sport, Stewardship, and Society.

Sport

The AWSF was chartered to foster increased awareness of and participation in the sport of water skiing in Alabama. The AWSF sanctions over a half dozen tournaments and clinics throughout the state every year to provide a competitive, safe, and inclusive sporting environment for beginners and seasoned professionals alike.

Stewardship

AWSF members contribute countless hours and resources in our local communities to broaden knowledge of and access to the sport of water skiing. As the state of Alabama’s governing body, we strive to foster the leadership qualities among our younger ranks—the successors of the sport—required to take the sport to the next level. The AWSF continues to host new member clinics to ensure inclusivity in the sport of water skiing for the next generation.

Society

The family of AWSF members is more than just a group of like-minded individuals; it is a family in every sense of the word. During tournaments, it is not uncommon for three generations of a skier’s family to come out to the water to support them. From the time you first strap on a pair of skies, you have become a member of the broad, diverse, and distinguished group of men and women who call themselves water skiers.
